Pricing Changelog

Every pricing change AnswerClerk has ever made. Existing customers are grandfathered against rate increases — see the grandfather clause in our Terms of Service.

  1. Ratified the launch overage rate at $0.005/message across Starter, Pro, and Business (unchanged from the initial figure; confirmed as the committed launch rate, no longer a placeholder).

Affects: All new subscriptions from this date. Existing subscriptions are already grandfathered at this rate.

Why: GL-2 sign-off. $0.005/message clears the >=5x-cost margin bar: production chat routes through low-cost OpenRouter models (Qwen/DeepSeek fast+balanced+capable) plus Voyage embed/rerank, whose blended per-message cost is well under $0.001. The rate also sits at or below every paid tier's effective included-message rate ($0.0145 Starter / $0.0079 Pro / $0.00199 Business), so overage never costs a customer more per message than their plan already implies. Rate held flat rather than raised to preserve the transparent, no-markup pricing promise.

  2. Initial public pricing. Free (eval only, 1 agent, 100 msgs/month). Starter $29/mo (2 agents, 2,000 msgs/month, white-label + custom domain + custom CSS, $0.005/msg overage). Pro $79/mo (10 agents, 10,000 msgs/month). Business $199/mo (unlimited agents, 100,000 msgs/month).

Affects: All new subscriptions from this date.

Why: Pricing-wedge launch. White-label and custom domain included on the lowest paid tier. Overage metered at a flat $0.005/message with no AI-spend markup. Active subscriptions are grandfathered against future rate increases per the Terms of Service grandfather clause.
